I did consider the Sigma 15-30 and yes its a better lens than the 17-35, but I opted for the later because of the HSM and the front filter option when I bought it...

Anyway they have a ∑ 12-24mm HSM now... How about some more overlaps? 8)

Bah, a rear filter on the 12-24 Sigma. How much is that lens going for? Any good or bad experiences with it? Do you have one NHL?

... Well I thought the front filter was a good idea on my 17-35mm f2.8-4 until I had to pay for the 82mm polarizer!

I've heard on later shipment of ∑ 15-30mm, that they've included a slip-on adapter so you can attach a filter from the front as well for non-full frame cameras. The ∑ 12-24 was not available when I got the 50-500 for Xmas, so I don't know if Sigma might do something similar to this WA as well when it's not back ordered...

Yeah, I try to collect 77mm front thread lenses, so I can re-use my polarizer. Unfortunately the collection effort doesn't go very fast :-)A 77mm one is expensive enough! Hmmm, are there any 72 to 77mm adaptor rings? What about 58 to 77 mm?
