Default A couple landscape pictures

Taken at Ballena Isle Marina this morning. The sky looked gray because of the coastal fog.

Default Retired aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Hornet at Alameda Point

Used to be the Alameda Naval Air Station, now renamed as Alameda Point since the base closure, is the home for the retired/decommissioned U.S.S. Hornet and served as a floating Naval Museum.

Hmm, I dunno, the skin on that little girl in the middle looks very "plasticky" and digital to me.

I know what you mean, the doll's head is actually made with hard plastic. This is a cheap all around lens; I accept the fact that there will be loss of IQ for the sake of convenience. This is not a L lens and the IQ is nowhere near it.

Default Update on the lens

I took this lens to China on the Silk Road trip and the pictures came out pretty good. It could have been better with a different camera body. Some of the pictures came out out of focus. I think the camera may need to be calibrated. I picked up a refurbished T3i body from Canon's own online site and it makes a lot of difference. The pictures look a lot sharper.
