Default Tamron 70-200 f2.8

I have recently read sum good reviews on the latest model of this lens..I wanted the canon 70-200 but was out of my price range..is it any lighter than the Canon??

Also how is the canon 70-200 f4?? and also the sigma 70-200 f2.8..Looking for a lens that I can mostly use outside but inside once in awhile..

I have the canon EOS 70d camera body

I have the Tamron 70-200 vc 2.8 and I love it. Stabilized and a thousand bucks cheaper than canon. Does stabilization matter? Shoot a catholic wedding where you're not allowed to get close and you have to zoom in from a distance and the answer is yes. I am very happy with the picture quality. I normally use the 6D at weddings but I also have the 70D and like it very much. Great auto focus. Wish the 6D had it.

According to SLRGear.com, the Canon and Tamron weigh about the same. It also says that while the Canon performs very well optically, the Tamron needs to be stopped down at longer focal lengths to do as well.
