Default Wide angle Primes

What wide angle primes are available for the 10d ? I am interested in 18mm or wider and good in low light,,, would even consider manual focus. Are there converters to use to widen the feild of view?

Thanks for the link, the Sigma certainly seems to do the job. I would still be interested in any (cheaper) prime alternatives that can work in lower light conditions.

How about the 20mm F/1.8 ?

Otherwise, there's the following:

... but for the price you might as well get the above 12mm-24mm

You should... you have to de-"fished" the primes whereas with the new 12-24 it's more of a rectilinear!

I use the Sigma 14mm 2.8 and am very happy with it for the price. I have compared it side by side to the 12-24 (at 14mm, same aperture)andthe 14mm primewas considerably sharper. Here's a sampleI took recently if you're interested.

My next choice would be one of the 20mm lenses but they may not be wide enough for your use.

Excellent picture! As you say the lens seems to be very sharp. What sort of price are they? Thanks

Yes, on myDRebel it is quite sharp for a third-party lens. It sells online for about $650. That's not much cheaper than the 12-24 but it is faster (f2.8)and from my test, sharper.

For what it's worth,I mostlyuse for it is shots like these...and I'm very happy with the results:
