I lost the lens cap for this lens mounted on my 20D during my recent trip to Israel and Jordan. The lens cap originally supplied wasn't the easiest to use for me either (big fingers).

Does anyone know of 3rd party suppliers for lens caps that have the lens cap releases in the front of the lens cap rather than on the sides of the lens cap?

Welcome back geoff.

Tamron's 28-75 lens had a front squeeze grip so maybe they all come that way. If so you could pick up a Tamron cap perhaps.

Hey, Norm, good to hear from you!

I don't care if it's not a Canon lens cap - I just want another one, preferably the front-squeeze type. I'll keep looking around...

BTW, I've been back since Sunday evening and have been posting photos in the Travel, Landscapes, and Other forums. That's because I got almost no wildlife shots. There was wildlife but I just didn't have the lens that could get me a close enough shot - therefore... nothing worthwhile of wildlife. Take a look at what I've posted - some of it's not too bad.

Funny,

I just bought a 17-85 and had the same complaint with the lens cap, sales looked at me like I was retarded.

Next store please!!

Hi there, Chris12! If you find a supplier for lens caps for the Canon lenses with the front squeeze releases, let me know! I still haven't found anywhere I could buy that style for the Canon lenses...

You're right, Tomsch - thanks! I don't know why I didn't notice this up at B&H when I had last searched on that site...

lol, you'll just have to glue a Canon symbol on overtop of the Tamron

I know - exactly what I thought!

There's no mistaking the white L lenses for anything but a Canon lens as far as I know so it would be kind of funny to see a Tamron cap on them...
