I just bought a Canon 28>105 USM 2 lens and its FAR less shap then the kit lens (18>55) and far more CA on every image.

Any good guess? is this just a poor quality lens even vs the kit lens?

Is the lense Brand New or Second Hand, I found that when I first got my lenses they were quite blurred but after some use they start to give better results. My belief is that the motors in the lense get a little stiff and need some working in before they start to give their best. It certainly seems logical with my lenses and it makes sense if you think about it. Any motor sitting doing nothing for any length of time could become stiff and unusable in time.

This is just my opinion, it's only based on my own experience.

cheers

Mart.
