New to the forums, just bought a Canon 20D with the 17-85 IS lens. I feel the Canon f/2.8L is stretchng my budget a bit. I've read good things about the Sigma (fast HSM AF, etc.), but some feel L-Glass matters more. Any opinions?

Or should I just cough up the extra 4-500 for the f/2.8L?

This topic has been discussed a lot here lately... A lot depends on your intended use. Personally I have the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX and love it. I shoot mainly indoor sport so the f2.8 is a necessity..
