Does anyone have/had this lens. Is it a decent lens for the money?(under $200)

Or is the newer 70-200 L f/4 really worth $300 more?

You might want to check the response to another reader on the first page of this forum. I do have the 70-210 F4. As I said "I purchased new about 18 years ago before USM I think. Solid lens and reasonably sharp. My only gripe has been that the zoom will move if pointed downward, you'll have to hold it. I can't remember what I paid for it at Ritz Camera but it could not have been more than $150 at that time. Don't use it much anymore since I use the EF 70-200L F4." If cost is a factor it is a good lens, solid. The 70-200L is much nicer, fast focus USM, quiet, and sharp. Is it worth $300? Don't really know your call. Youwon't regret the "L" series lens if you use it alot. Otherwise the 70-210 is still a good occasional lens since the 70-200L is available. Let me know what you decide.
