~Here's the deal. I'm planning on getting a 20d by the end of summer or fall. Here are some lenses that I've been researching. Money is an issue, I am still in highschool, but I think I'm comfortable with these lenses.

70-200 f4L (w 1.4 telecoverter in the future)

50 1.8

I'm still trying to find a good walk around lense. Please give me suggestions.

I really want to do wildlife photography, because I can't effectively do it now.

Please give me suggestions, pros and cons on these lenses.~

Your first two choices are excellent. I have them both and am very pleased with them. I would highly recommend the 17-85 IS as a great walk around. It may be a little pricey but I believe it's quite competitive with the two L's that it would take to cover the same range and the IS really is worth it for walk around use.
