yea.. i realized you had the 100-300 canon, i just mentioned the sigma since it can take the 1.4x and 2x teleconverters.. but on to your real question..

well, the options for a 500 to 600 are going to depend heavily on yourbudget.. the aforementioned 80-400 gives you an equivelent of 640 with the crop factor for around 1000 bucks and has optical stab.. and is a pretty good bargain really.. there is always the bigma 50-500 which is quite sharp as well, also around 1000, and give you an equivelent of 800, tripod needed here.. then of course there are the canon primes if you are willing to spend a few grand.. and if you want the ultimate in reach there is always the sigma 300-800 for around $6000.. hehe..
