I am buying either sigma 18-200 or sigma 70-300 APO and I want to know the image quality for 70 and ABOVE for these two. which one is better?

how about 70-300 f2.8 HSM compared to 70-300? I think the APO is really good already, will I see any difference with the f2.8?

can someone post link to pictures taken with the sigma 18-200 lense? I am really curious how it looks like

The f/2.8 will have shallower DOF so you'll see this - It's also faster in AF so you'll be able to capture quicker action shots where the APO would miss... at 3x the cost though

Here is a link to photos I took with the Sigma 18-200. I think it is a good lens, but I do not know how to critically assess this. All photos were hand-held shots. All were cropped in the center portion for space reasons.

I am leaning towards getting sigma 70-200 or 70-300 APO now over the 18-200. My only previous concern was that it will be difficult since I probably will need to change the lense since I am planning to use it on a long journey/travel. I know both of the telezooms are better in terms of image quality but the downside is I will have to change lense all the time while traveling...

great galler bth nhl, really nice. what lense are you using?

I would reccomend the 2.8 if you can afford it.I couldnt yet and bought the 70-300 APO II and like it so far.I am still trying to figure out the learning curve on DSLRs.Here are a few shots I have taken with the lens.

thank you very much for posting these pictures taken with 18-200. I was not impressed though with the quality ón the wide angle side. It seems not to perform as well as my current lense 18-70 DX Nikon D70. And the shots taken at 200 mm are very blurry, not sharp at all.

is is possible for you to post some more pictures of people (portrait as well as "traditional travling pictures (such as standing infront of a buildning)")?

"Sigma lense suggetions please"

My suggetion? DON'T

All things considered something in the Canon line should do you better.
