I shot this butI havemy doubts about the sharpness of the Tokina Lens.

First shot is original 6 megapixel reduced to 720x480 from DRebel. No sharpening shot Raw. 13mm, 1/160, f/9. Second shot is a full crop from the original shows a SWA 737 taking off about 10 miles away. Please note the "speck" left side of the glass building midway up.What does anyone think about the Tokina's resolution? Still learning this lens, sometimes I am impressed and sometimes I have doubts.

i have seen several comparisons of the tokina 12-24 and the canon 10-22 in the FM forumns, and in all instances the tokina beat the canon.. so i think you can lay your worries aside and enjoy your lens.. those pics look fine to me..

Thanks to all!

I am enjoying the wide view! I get the feeling this will become my most used lens. I was a little worried about getting something not "Canon". SInce this is working well I may be tempted to add some additional non-Canon Lenses. Can't wait for vacation to New Mexico and doing some landscape shots!

How do I know about the aircraft? SWA flies from Love Field and that is their route, I see this every day many times a day as they fly past just north of downtown Dallas.
