So I see here the new DGs that Sigma is adding to the lineup, but what I want to know is, what is really the benefit of the DG anyhow?

The Sigma DG lenses have special (super)multi-coatings to help against flare and ghosting with digital SLR cameras.

Their DC line aremade specificallyto be used with digital SLR cameras.

They mention this on their web page: http://www.sigmaphoto.com/

I don't know if there is a noticable difference between a DG lens and a non-DG lens. Some of the reviews I have seen really doesn't show a difference.

Some 'DG' lens are redesigned with more elements:

... while others apparently only have a different 'multi-coating' change :-)
(the stores seem to charge more for the 'DG' version...)

i am going to guess that the new tele's will only have a new coating.. unlike the 17-35 2.8-4.0 DG which was redesigned...

Yea, the new macro looks nice, and I really like the 10-20mm DC, but as far as the DG tele's go I have no interest in paying an extra $100 for two letters, so it would be nice to see some tests.
