Hi i have the canon 18-55 ef-s lens that came with my 350d but its not that wonderful so looking to replace it, is the sigma 18-50 dc any bettter, the problem being that i do not wish to spend tooo much

keep you kit lens until you can afford something good.. and then buy something that adds to your flexibility and not just a replacement.. the kit lens is a capable lens and is remarkably sharp and contrastyfor its price!

btw- there are 2 18-50 DC lenses.. the 18-50 f2.8 is a good lens.. but the 18-50 3.5-5.6 is not..

though, if you were going to buy a normal zoom, i would keep the kit for occasional wide angle shots and then purchase a sigma 24-70 2.8 EX or a canon 28-135 IS or something like that..

or keep the kit and get a good 70-200...

Thanks for that i may keep the kit lens for the moment, i have seen a Canon EF 70-210 f4 lens for sale , is this any good. As for a wide angle i think i will save and look at maybe a Canon EF-S 10-22mm or similar
