hi,

I'mabout to buy a new wide angle lense.. and I'm picking between the 15-30 or the 17-35 , both sigma. I heard the 15-30 has major flare problems..but I like the extra mm's. The 17-35 ( the newest one)is less wider but has hsm and a wide diafragmaand doesn't seem to have those major flare problems...

which lense would you buy and why?

thanks in advance,

The 15-30 is of an older design, but is excellent optically - The flare is part with all wider angle lenses... Note that this lens comes with a hood adapter which is more effective than the built-in one for APS-c sized camera in reducing flare since it fits and covers the entire built-in 'tulip' shade and has a built-in filter mount up front for a polarizer.

In my opinion your selection should really be between the 12-24 EX and the the 17-35 f/2.8-4 both are HSM - wider or faster, your choice?
