hey guys,

i have an opportunity to pick up the tokina 28-70 really cheap.. but i don't really have much experience with this lens.. so could someone let me know what they think of this lens.. its not exactly the lens i would want if giving the choice (would get the sigma 24-70) but for the price.. i am tempted..

dustin, i haven't seen too many "impressive" captures with that lens, but then again, I haven't seen too many captures with it at all. that said, i'm sure it is a quality optic given a good copy. any way for you to try it before you buy it? the "test" of a lens is wide open at its longest focal length, so in this case: 70mm f2.8. try it there especially and shoot lots of frames at that setting.

well i went ahead cuz the price was definately right.. if i am not impressed, i am sure i can get my money back easy enough.. so its really a no lose situation... i'll be sure to let everyone know my impressions..

well.. i am happy to report that this one is a sharp copy... at 100% its indistinguishable from the tamron 28-75 2.8.. what a bargain!

I have the Sigma 28-70mm f2.8-4 and I am very pleased with the results from this lens. For $60.00 to $70.00 you can not beat this lens...
