Hi all,I recently purchased a 10-22 usm Canon lens for my 20D. Could you guys check my images at the following link:http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/[email protected]/album?.dir=b072&.src=ph you will need to download each one from the preview page. Are these images a little soft at the edges or is this normal with such a wide lens? I just want to be sure that I have a lens worth keeping. (I realise it's not an L lens but I'm new to all of this).Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. JonathanCut and paste the link... clicking it adds the word 'you to the end which stops it working

well jonathan..

its hard to get a real accurate feeling of sharpness from these photos.. but with a super wide such as this, it is expected that you will have some distortion and that the corners wont match the center for sharpness.... from what i can tell, everything looks fine.. no worries mate..

Thanks for responding Dustin. When you say it's hard to judge from these photographs, is that because of the type of photograph I have taken or because of the displayed size? If it's size you can download the full size image for each if you have broadband. Just click 'download' above each image. If it's down to the subject could you suggest what to shoot to test the sharpness?I may just be expecting too much. I haven't printed any images out from this lens yet. They may look fine in print. I also see some CA in certain images but that's to be expected isn't it?Anyway, thanks againJonathan

i looked at it again.. i think that that is about as good as any for a super wide.. looks good to me.. i mean you can't expect 24-70 2.8L or 70-200 F2.8L performance out of a lens that is this wide..

so enjoy your new lens and don't worry bout it.. everythings seems to be in working order to me.. looks like a nice superwide lens..
