Dear Folks,

Reading Stevenkin's response to Rob posted on the 16th of July 2005, he partly answered a question that had been troubling me, but also successfully raised another one.

Considering that my 350D Canon uses the APS-C, measuring 22.5mm x 15mm, it means that it has a multiplier factor of 1.6. In other words,a 12mm focal length lens given this factor would translate into approximately 19mm focal length (12 x 1.6). Given this scenario, it seems to me that I would never have a true wide lensfor example 12 mm lens because this translates into 19mm. If this is the case, and supposing I want to by awide lens, what would be thewidest lens I can get for the 350D? Any ideas, wisdom, enlightenment in this matter?

Thanks.

Cheers!

Canon makes a 10-22mm EF-S lens. As far as I know, it is the widest angle lens that you can get for the 350D. It has a slightly different mount than other Canon EF lenses and is not compatible with all Canon cameras. It is made specifically for the 300/350D and the 20D.

TheSigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX Aspherical DG HSM is a popular choice for a wider zoom.

I'll move this thread down to our Canon Lenses Forum, where you are more likely to get useful responses.
