I can't help with any of those lenses, but have you considered the Canon 10-22? Its 350/20D only, but for a few more days, you can get it from Dell for about $650. That may be slightly above your price range, and it unfortunately doesn't come with the hood or carrying case.

But the lens has gotten good reviews, even thought its not an "L".

I take the price back...Dell seems to have pulled this out of their sale list sometime overnight.

*** and now an hour later, its back.

At least for the moment <G>

have you checked out the tokina 12-24 f4.0.. its a digi-only lens such as the sigma 10-20 and canon's 10-22 but is probably a better overall value and is probably a sharper lens than either one..

but of that list i would get the sigma 12-24 4.5-5.6 EX DG as it is the only full frame capable lens made in this zoom range. this will allow you to migrate to the full frame 1d series if you ever so desire. plus it handles distortion better than any except maybe the 15-30...

Yeap this all academic depending on what camera one has, but I tend to agree with Hards80 - from the only full-frame super wide angle zoom available, the Sigma 12-24 EX:

... this lens works on all my existing bodies and won't limit my choice in the next camera either!

The nice thing about this 12-24 EX is that it comes with a more effective front filter hood/adapter (beside the built-in tulip shade) against glare for APS-C sized camera which can accept a front rotating polarizer filter

Looked up the Dell deals for the Canon 10-22mm and decided to go for it. Just got the order confirmation. Why does it take them 2 1/2 weeks to put an "in-stock" item on a truck? The price is right, but the three week delivery is not.

NHL. Is this a photographfrom your 12-24 and your camera? That picture is amazing!!!!!!!!!! That photo, if its yours, has just sealed the deal on my search for a wide angle lens. I was worried that all wide angle zooms had a little fish-eye effect to them. I have not had the chance to check any out lately because of my printer search delima. If I can not decide on a printer in the week or so I will be ordering this lens.
