Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras[/b]

Canon EF 80-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras[/b]

Are these 2 lens designed for Canon 350D? I read somewhere not to use old Canon lens for the new EOS DSLR. Will get some error... Is it true? How are the above lens and what are the cons for it? I found these lens are very cheap (like $125 - $150) and sharper than Sigma, Tamron lens...

Any suggestions? Like the focusing speed, softness, IS etc...

IMO you're deluding yourself, especially in comparison to the Sigma 70-300 APO

Just check Ebay for the # of folks selling them off or a cursory look @ their MTF curves:

vs

and

vs

In another word the Sigma is sharper when wide opened than the Canon even when the EF 75-300 is closed down to f/8, and I haven't even mentioned CA problems yet (the Sigma is APO) :-)

... and BTW all Sigma come with lens hood and case: http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=62706&forum_id=65
