Am considering this as a everyday lens when I don't want a lot of bulk. Anybody have this lens yet? A local camera store is pushing the Promaster 18-200 Aspherical lens for Digital Cameras DREBEL XT ($379 US). Just wondering if anyone has either lens and what they think. Tamron 18-200 is going for $399 at B&H. Can't find the Promaster on the net, only at the Promaster website.

you know.. i have been reading some reviews on some other forumns and some testimonials for the SIGMA 18-200.. it appears that this lens is a winner.. there are a few pros over there that attest that it is shaper than their 17-40's.. idunno about that.. but from what i have seen, it seems to be a good lens.. i would choose this over the tamron and for sure over the promaster..

Thanks,

I didn't realize Sigma made an 18-200. Price at B&H seems about the same.

Sigma4less.com has a real good price on the 18-200. I just got mine yesterday. I've only taken a couple of pics with it, but so far, I'm happy with it.

I would certainly be interested in seeing some results from the Sigma 18-200mm. Ilike Sigma lenses.

How about some samples from the 18-200?
