Is this lens an autofocus lens? I see it supports full manual focus but I was wondering if it supports autofocus as well. :?

Thanks :-)

Yes, the USM isCanon's very fast and silentautofocus mechanism that allows for manual focus, as well.

For future references, I believe EF stands for Electronic Focus. These all have AF/MF options and there's a switch between these two. A ring-type USM will allow FTM (full time manual) where you don't have to use the switch... Very nifty stuff.

AND you HAVE to use the switch if your lens doesn't have FTM or else you risk damaging the lens.

There are some exceptions, such as the EF 50mm f/1.4 that uses micro USM but still has FTM. But basically, if you see a little gold ring design (or a red ring) near the tip of the lens, it's a good chance there's FTM.
