..Looking for good referral for a landscape lens for Canon Rebel XT. It can be any make as long as I can use it for the Rebel. Not looking to spend a fortune one, but one that would give me clear & sharp shots. Maybe I am asking too much for clear shots and lower price. I have a Sigma 70 -300mm f4-5.6 lens as well. thanks alot for your input. :?

With the Rebel XT I would recommend a lens that starts around 17mm-18mm for good landscapes do to the crop factor (1.6x). A 24mm or 28mm might limit you a bit, and cause you to zoom back with you feet to get the image that you want.

One that I have liked is the Sigma 18-125mm, stopped down a few clicks. This lens can be bought for less than $300 and is better than the kit lens. Mine can hold its own against more expensive glass. This range is also very versitle for travelling. This lens would also work with your current Sigma 70-300 range, with some overlap.

Here are a few more, but more expensive too: Sigma 18-50mm EX F2.8 and Canon 17-85mm IS. If you are looking at the 24mm side, the Sigma 24-70mm EXF2.8 Macro is amazing, and the Tarmon 28-75mm F2.8 gets high praise too. These 4 lens start around $400 and go up.

Just to let you know, any lens can be used for landscape, it just depends on what youwant to show.
