I have noticed that the kit 18-55mm lens that came with the 350D has started to rattle. The whole front section of the lens appears to wobble around and makes a rattling sound. Has anyone else noticed this with their kit lens?

Unless you get an L, most composite lenses will be get loose with use: my 28-135 IS front also wobble with age...

Come to think of it even the metal 50mm f/1.4 mechanism is quite loose if not mounted on the body

If the wobble isn't affecting the sharpness of your photos, what difference does it make?

However, nobody likes "photographer's droop".

That's when you're zoom lens is pointed towards the ground and starts zooming due to the pull of gravity....

I don't think it's the lens. I notice the same rattle sound, then I took of the lens. It's still rattle when i tilt the camera back. I think it's the 2 little bars that hold down the flash, you can see them when the flash pop up.
