Hi guys,

I'm about to buy my first additional lens for my 350D. I've already got an 18-55 kit lens and am looking at either:

Sigma 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 DG Macro (62mm)

Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO Macro DG (58mm)

Cost wise there is very little between them.Would the 28-300 suffer because of the bigger range of focal lengths? I suppose I always have my 18-55 if I need something wider. On the other hand, the less lens changes I have to make the better I suppose. Which lens would provide the better overall picture quality?

Anyway, any comments would be appreciated!

I have the Sigma 70-300 APO DG it is a very good lens for the money, get this lens and you have your kit lens to use at 18-55, if you are looking for an all around lens, then the 28-300 is not the answer, you should look at some thing that starts at 18, like the Sigma 18-200 DG, good luck.
