Im interested in the difference, I would prefer the metal mount of the Mark one but which is the better lens?

well I'm not exactly an expert on this, but optically you probably won't see much difference, the metal mount does make the older version much more durable.

I have had several of each of them. The MK1 has the focus distance scale, metal mount and a roughermanual focus. The optics are the same. I prefer the new version as its manual focus is smoother, its lighter too.Dont worry you will never

wear out the polycarbonate mount on it.Overall the MKII is more fragile.

I only own the Mark II, but you can take a look at the quality from a test I did a while back: Test Link
