Hope someone here can provide a suggestion, way to calculate or other help. Got a kinda bizarro need for macro capability. I've got to shoot pictures of crime scene evidence, and meet special criteria. Camera will typically be 12-14 inches away from the object. I've got to capture approximately a3 inch by 3 inch area, but at 1000 pixels/inch.
So, assuming I'm using the EOS 5d, with it's 4368x 2912 pixel sensor, how would I figure what kind of lens/extender I would need? Any other suggestions?
By the way, thanks NFL for the canon lens chart. If I understand the info on it, it would seem like the EF 100mm f2.8 macro lens may be in the neighborhood.
Any and all ideas GRATEFULLY accepted. Thanks in advance.
