Any 70-200 f/2.8 - If I recall correctly they have an area for 'relative' to shoot from...

Well, what lenses do you have? Where are you seats going to be at?

The one thing that I would definetly want would be a constant aperature lens at F2.8. I would guess the lighting might not be that great in there.

If you seats are far away and you can't get to close to the stage, then one of the 70-200mmF2.8 lenses from either Canon or Sigma would work. If you can get closer then a zoom from either 17,18 to about 70mm would be ok. If you have a prime lens, then that would be a great choice.

Let us know some more info, and we can try and help out.

Bookerreese

for the 75-300mm, is it the IS version?

If this is the IS version, kick the ISO setting up a bit and that should work. She should be stationary for a bit, so you can get the had shake and document handover.

If it was me, I would take both lenses and see how they work from where you will be taking the images. You might be a bit closer and the 17-85mm would work, as that has IS on it to.

I don't know anything about the Comcast Center but depending on your light and distance from the action, you might do well with the the 28-135 USM IS. I have used it at two graduations, one outdoors and one in, and had good results. On a 1.6X crop DSLR, the 135 becomes a 200 with IS. The 28, effectively 45, isn't real wide but does make family/group shots easier in a crowded hall or stadium. The only drawback to the 70-200 is that 70 is still a bit long for group shots unless you can back up a lot.
