This digital "stuff" is all very new to me, so please bear with me. I have a Canon FD 70-210 lens from my Canon AE 1 Program film camera, approximately about 17 years old, great camera by the way. But can this lens be used with any of Canon's digital cameras? I am looking for an economical way of getting set up and getting my feet wet with digital, with a zoom. If thereare any suggestions itwould also be aprreciated. Thanks dan.

Danny, first off. Welcome to Steves Digicam's Forums.

Second, I do believe there is a FD convertor that fits the EF mount, then the FD mount would fit that.

I believe this cripples the lens to being only manual focus, and does not transmit any EXIF data to the jpeg.

EXIF tells you later what the range was, the f-stop used, etc. It's a handy tool when studying your or someone else photo and trying to recreate a look or shot.

I would recommend possibly if you have a small budget into purchasing a newer lens.

It'd be worth the investment later.
