I realy want the f2.8 version of this lens as Im always at Events and mainly in low light situations, I just want some personal opinions on this lens!... as I can get it for £400 is that a good price?

I realy want the 24-70 L 2.8 but cant afford it right now, that might be my next lens though....

any advice help appreciated

If you really want the 24-70L then you can't be choosing the prime for it's low weight. Or do you mean the canon 70-200f2.8L?
You can get a sigma 70-200f2.8 for this much and unless you're getting a prime to keep weight down or you're getting a canon image-stabilised lens then it's a lot better value.
