Has anyone got any experience of using this lens? I've been trying to find some reviews but with little success. I'm worred of the the rather large focal range, and if that will degrade quality and sharpness. This is for my Canon 350D.

Thanks

I would seriously warn you off getting this lens. I am pretty sure that I used it well enough and gave it a fair comparision with my other lenses in the same conditions. I recommend you get a zoom lens for zooming and a smaller for walk-around.
Very disappointed with the "all-rounders".

I.e. 70-300 APO Sigma

Thanks for the reply alex , I read your thread and that prompted me to make this thread. Maybe it was a deffective lens? As it's hard to believe that Sigma can produce something so bad. Would you mind stating what other lenses you are comparing it to.

These photos don't look too bad :? http://www.pbase.com/cameras/sigma/28200

For what it is worth, I have found that Sigma lenses can vary quite a bit from sample to sample. Also keep in mind that the Sigma lenses that cannot meet their loose QC standards get the Quantaray Label.
