The lens isn't zoomed all the way out, but these were taken with the 100 - 300 F4 with the Sigma 1.4 tele converter. I'm still learning to use the lens. Both were hand held. It is big and heavy.

Well after going down to my local camera shop to test the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4-5.6L IS USM...slightly lighter than the Sigma lense.

And my wrist was hurting after 5 minutes of test shooting. :P

So the Sigma is definitely out of the question; looks like I'll be waiting until the Canon 70-300mm IS USM lense becomes available in stores.
