hi guys,

I am pretty new of the canon world. I bought a S2 IS some months ago and yesterday a friend gave me an "EF 70-300mm DO IS USM". Are the twe compatibles? I mean: can I use the EF 70-300 on my S2.

If so, which adapter and components should I buy to fit the tele on the camera?

Thanks a lot!

no. The two are not compatible.

You need a DSLR camera to use the lens (10d, 20d, 300d, 350d, 30d, 5d, 1d).

To my knowledge, there is no adapter for taking an SLR lens and being able to use it on a digicam

Maybe...it would be a good idea to buy a teleconverter for my digicam. I saw some at good prices on www.lensmate.com. Do you think it would be better a teleconverter or a widerangle for my trip to Tanzania? Consider I can't buy both..
