I must say that I would buy Tamron 28-75 just if I could know the follwing:

1. Can I shot at 28 or 30mm without distorzion of the model

2. To be sure about distorzion if I shot at for example at 35 mm what is the distance from model where I should be if the model is about 1.7m.... is it posible to calculate

Thanks

The the wide angle distortion will be at the edges and therecould be some vignetting when shooting wide open. The 24 - 70 zoom ranges has oftenbeenused for portraits. For models that rangeplus 70 - 200 and 300 (2.8) areused by the pros. I think one of the sports illustrated swimsuit guys uses the Canon 24 - 70, 70 - 200, and the 85 1.2 prime.

I think yourbest all around choices are the 24 - 70 2.8 (Sigma) or 28 - 70 2.8(Tamron) (you didn't lsit the 24 - 70 Sigma as a choice)

I have the Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5 Macro and am very happy with it. I wanted the wider range and have been very happy with its sharpness. I think either will be satisfactory for you.

Good luck!

I have an older Sigma 28 - 70 2.8 EX. This lens was supposed to be inferior to the 24 - 70 version. Here's a photo I took today with a 5D. The 5D should expose more of a lens weakness than a sub full frame camera.

Uh, well I think that Tamron should be enough. Still thinking of Sigma 24-70 but...... do not know.

One friend of mine offered me used lens:Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens

I think it will not be fast enough (i want f2.8) and there is no IS so?????..... the price is 200EUR and still in guarantee.

With the Canon the fastest your lens will be at 85mm is EF 4.5.I am not sure of the value of IS at the smaller focal lengths.* Maybe another reader will provide some insight to the value of IS at the smaller focal lenths.

Well, I think that it is too much, we can talk all the way to the end of the year..... always different possibilities.....

finally I supose that wil go for Tamron 28-75 f2.8. The price is good, just to take lens in my hand, to seeit and if I find it looking good it will be mine :-)

We will see

Hi,

Fisrt I want to thank you for your support and want to inform you that yesterday I have been to the capital and bought my new lens...........

Well for me it is new but I've bought a used one.... why?

Among the selected one in this thread the owner of the store offered me his friend lens......

So, for the half price of the new one we agreed and even I bought it on credit.....

Hope that the lens is good and touse it welll....
