Not that great! Has no RAW, no swival screen, no longer the CF card, and a slower lens. This is not a G in my opinion. This is a move by Canon to force people to go dslr. Well I am just going to stop buying Canon period!

Was going to be buying it but now am really bummed. I own the G4 and was going to upgrade... not now.
I echo this comment right on! I have had several digitals, most of which have been Canon. I think what Canon has done by lowering the bar in the G series has been pretty cheesy! I expect to see improvements across the board with a camera not pull certain features in order to " push" their other lines. I have owned the G3 & now G6. I absolutely love the flipout LCD and was blown away when I realized that they took this feature away. It has allowed me to take shots I will never be able to get with a flat screen. As loyal a Canon as I have been its time to start looking elsewhere. I would easily be willing topay the price for the improvements they could have made to the G7. Canon has missed the boat!
