I just received my S3-IS today. The first thing I noticed was a creaking sound when I gripped the grip. It feels like something wasnt assembled right. If I twist the grip slightly, it gets worse. Is this normal ? (I hope not)

Has anyone else had this issue?

Do you think I would have any trouble returning it to Amazon.com for a replacement?

BUMP.

50+ views and no replys? I went to Circuit City and Best Buy tonight to play with the floor model of the S3. Both had the same creaking problem, but mine is slighty worse.

This leads me to believe that it is a "normal" problem. I also notice that if I take my batterys out and leave the door open, the creaking problem is gone.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have an S3. Don't notice any creaking sound. If it does not interfere with the working of the camera, I am guessing it is the plastic makeup of the camera. Plastic rubbing on plastic makes that creaky noise.

I just picked up my S3 IS today. Plan on taking some pics of a car show tomorrw. Anyway, mine doesn't make the creaking sound. However, make sure the battery door is closed firmly, this might be what your hearing. I know mine was a little testy at first.

I believe it is the battery door doing this, since I dont hear or feel it when I remove the batterys. Maybe I have a faulty battery door? It is completey closed when the batteries are in.

Double check the door and make sure it is closed completly. I thought mine was and it wasn't. Now all is fine.
