Default Good software prog to edit pics?

What is a good software program to use for uploading pics from my A70 to the comp, editting (simple stuff like red eye, sharpen ,ect), printing, emailing, archiving on hard drive?

i have the included software from canon but wondered is there a better and easier program out there that does the job better?

Since its completely free, check out irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com.)

I've used it for a while and find it... ok. Its interface is fairly easy to understand, with well worded menus and it does a lot of the basic stuff. It lacks configurability and flexability, which is why I'm starting to use the copy of Photoshop Elements 2 which came with my camera. But irfanview is worth checking out... costs you nothing but a little time.

Check out the list of software which steve has collected for you:

All kinds of good stuff, but not all is free.

I just use ZoomBrowser EX to download pictures from the CF-card.
Here I can look at all the settings for each picture.
Until now I've used PhotoImpressions to edit pictures. But after getting Paintshop Pro, I'll use this program to edit pictures - and still ZoomBrowser EX to download pictures.

Happy photographing

The industry standard is 'Photoshop' which I use. It is expensive but worth it if you are at all serious about digital imaging and manipulation of images, d

photoshop is a very good piece of software. But be warned, is can be overwhelming and very confusing (I should know, I'm learning it now!) But the results are worth it. I was doing ok thing with irfanview (www.irfanview.com) but I could figure out how to do a few simple things which I wanted (like put a border around the picture.)

So I installed photoshop elements (a lightly stripped down version of photoshop, but still highly functional) which came with my camera and did what I wanted and more with only a little hunting around their menus. But I was lucky enough to know the technical terms the program uses.

I'm using Photoimpact 8, have been for some time. Great program, and quite a bit less than Photoshop.

For me, the best quality/price solution is Photo Shop 8.
Great software, awsome functions!
