Hello,

What do you think about Canon S3 colors and color hueu?

What do you think about AWB against predefined settings for shooting outside?

Are you satisfied with color hueu? Do you use any special settings as exposoure compensation or "My Colors"

It seems to me in default settings what colors need more depth , hueu and saturation, I like the colors but ...

Other wise excellent camera

Hi, seems good.
What camera didi you take it with?

cat no you do few shots with differnet settings as Auto, P, P - vivit, SCN- Foliage
to see waht's the difference.
Also can do one with P - AWB to daylight.

My be myshot is overexposure and that makes colors blur ...

Hello Jeff,

thank you.

So what is your Custom settings then?
I see you use Exposure Compensation , give me some good tips for that camere, when to use it. May be my pics are light because of that.

Do you think that auto expousure is not dooing well?

Custom settings are no big deal, Sharpness +1, Contrast 0, Saturation 0.

Exposure Compensation, if you photo's are overexposed you must compensate for that. Try (-1) Exposure Compensation. Use the P mode, select FUNC button, use your 4-way button up to Exposure Compensation, and use your 4-way button to the left to select –1.

The next thing that you will discover is your different metering modes. You must read and study this link. This will take time and hundreds of pictures. Your location is not filled out, edit your profile as well so I know where you are taking pictures from. Try using your SCN mode, Foliage and take a shot of some fall colors. Let me know how you make out.

Hello Jeff,

Actually I have bought S3IS a month ago, but have no much time to make different test with settings.
I'm pretty happy with image quality just colors iritates me a bit, everything else is perfect for me.

Seems I have to do some experiments and find what color settings and exposure compensation will fit to me best.

What do you think about mettrings? seems there is no best mettring mode, it depends on the picture you would like to shoot, but if you have some tips I'll be happy to hear it.

The site you sent me seems to be general operation and user guide, I already know functions and how to operate, but taking good shots goes further than that ;-)

I have updated my profile, but I'm from Bulgaria.

I have few more questions.

1. Could you explain me more about histograms or give me a link where to read about it. I know the basic abou it but I'd like to go bit deeper, really to understand in better, not bright and dark side.

2. What I do not like in predefined settings are that I cannot change many setting in such mode. Do you know what a prefferd settings that camera chose in different predefined mode?
