Anyone considering the jump to DSLR should strongly consider the Nikon D50. (I've tried Canon's Rebel XT and prefer Nikon's sharpness) The D50 w/18-70mm Nikkor lens is hard to beat for the price. The picture quality is superb! I have the S3IS which is a great camera and also a Fuji F30 which has the lowest noise levels of any P&S you can buy. But they can't quite reach the DSLR level. I'll try to attach a D50 photo sample... keep clicking! (shooting sounded to violent and I don't want to offend anyone)

There is a freebie generic one on digital photgraphy on their home page also

I bought this and am really pleased with it. It probably tells me nothing I couldn;t find from other sources, but it brings everything together in one place and is well written for noobs like me!

Be warned if you only get the electronic version you will not be able to print it as they use PDF security settings to prevent you from doing that. So if you wanted a printed copy you will have to order one from then for a few extra dollars!

Actually, I am able to print the ebook. I printed out the Exposure and Sharpness sections. Maybe they changed that in a later edition? I dunno. I can take and post up a grainypicture of the printouts with my S3 if you want.:G lol
