Hello everbody,

I'm new atthis forum and hope you can help me.

I own a 2 year old Powershot S1 camera which been rarely used. (300-400 pictures).

Since last week the camera produced distorted images. The preview mode in the LCD is OK sameis for the viewfinder and the video mode. Only picture mode after making a shot and reviewing the pictures seems as in attached file. Is anybody know what is the failure?

Thank you in advance,

Emili.

Does it do this at all resolutions? What software are you using to upload the pics?

It happens on all resolutions. I don't need to pull the pictures to my PC in order to verify they are corrupted. But when i need to pull them i'm using windows explorer.

I replaced the CF card with a new one -and the card was not the reason for the failure.

This looks very much like the pictures in the persistent thread ("sticky") about CCD problems at the top of this forum. Look at that thread. I think the CCD imagers in the S1, S2, S3 and some other Canon models come from Sony, and some have failed. Canon might replace it for you.
