I AM LOOKING TO UPGRADE FROM A 4 MEGAPXL MINOLTA AND THINK THE CANON A640 HAS A GOOD PRICE POINT AND LOOKS TO HAVE ALL THE FEATURES I COULD WISH FOR EXCEPT A ATI-SHAKE FEATURE.

I'M GETTING OLD AND SHAKEY ANDCOULD REALLY USE THIS FEATURE.

HAS ANYONE IN THE FORUM HEARD WHEN CANON WILL ADD THIS FEATURE TO THEIR CONSUMER LINE AS OTHER MANUFATURES HAVE DONE.

You may consider the Powershot G7. Despite some negative comments (primarily of G1-G6 owners) it's a very fine camera. It has the same 10 MP sensor as the A640 + image stabilisation + more powerful 6x zoom + more powerful video mode + better build quality + better ergonomics. However, it lacks one key feature of the A640: the swivel display. It is also more expensive.

Hi,

Canon A710is and IXUS/SELPHY 850is are also stabilized. All Panasonic cameras are also stabilized.
