I got my wife a SD800 IS for Christmas so she'd have something she could carry in her purse. Great little camera for the size and money. Is anyone aware of a good book for this or similar P&S camera? I don't think Magic Lantern has one. Anything else out there?

Thanks,

Yes! It's called "The Manual".

Do you have an ISBN or name of the author? When I searched Amazon they returned 324,496 results.

Sorry! Iwas joking! :G

I think it may be a bit early for a book as the camera has only just been released.

Actually the manual is pretty good. I got my SD800 right after Christmas and just started playing with it. Found a couple of setting in the manual mode i liked and shoot most of my shots that way. But really, the scene settings particularly for snow work quite well.

IMHO this is my 4th digital camera and honestly the easiest to use for amateurs and still get good results.

I purchased a mini SD with adapter for I can use the card in my phone to send photos via e-mail. Works great. The best i've got so far is 237 photos before the low battery indicator comes up. That's not too bad.
