I have the SD700, the store I deal with did not bring in the SD800 because they were not happy about something - I can still change this 700 for the 900 but I have not read much about the SD900. Does the 900 have IS?? Thanks anyone.

I don't own one but in my search for a nicer p&s, I read the sd900 does NOT have IS.

Here's a link to the specs:

official site:

I wonder why the store didn't like the sd800 - it's got a nice wide-angle lens.

Thank you for the site CGL. I reread the review on my SD700 IS, with the camera in front of me, and found some things I did not know. I think I will keep this little camera. I am sure by the time next Christmas rolls around there will be a whole new batch to choose from!!! This is a large chain of stores. The manager did not give me a particular reason for not carrying the 800 - just that overall they were not happy with it. He also said the tradeoff was 4x zoom vs wideangle. I think today with so many options you just have to pick the features you want (like a compact and viewfinder for me) read the reviews and go for it! Thanks again for answering. S

I have had a bad flu since I got the camera at Christmas so not too much time to experiment - but what I have done with it I really like. I like the fact that it is very solid, yet very small, has a 2.5 LCD and a VIEWFINDER plus IS. I have had no blurring in low light which is why I was upgrading my pocket camera in the first place. The price is right too since coming out with the 800 and 900 we found the lowest price we could on the 700, took it to our dealer and they matched it.

You could also join www.flickr.com and sign up for groups. There are users with the SD camera that take fantastic shots, especially indoor, night, or the standard landscape or outdoor shots.
