Try the Canon Website. Maybe you can download "Remote Capture".

My camera (A610) came with a program called "Camera Window" that allows changing the owner name. It also lets you change other things such as custom sounds and splash screen. It might probably work with your camera. Try searching for it in Canon's site.

Canon offers updates to the programs we are suppose to already have. How about just sending me the program? That would be the easiest.

My thought on this is that if you bought the S3 as a "new" camera, there should not be any owners name listed.

The merchant who sold it misleaded you if you thought it was brand new. It is used.

The camera should have come with a disk and in that the "Zoombrowser" that is used to change the owner data.

If it was bought from someones trunk, well you get what you get.

There is an issue here to work out.

The camera wasn't bought out of a trunk and it's not an issue, but thanks for your opinion anyway.

If it makes any difference, I bought the camera from a college student that got it as a gift from his step mom that couldn't get used to all the features.............she had an Instamatic. His parents are now divorced and she is out of the picture. I told him not to worry about the CD. I figured any software I needed I could download.
