I am placing an order for the 3is tomorrow. Can someone that can talk down to a novice explain to me what "hack or hacking" means? Thank you - gle

A hacker is a person who tweaks software and a hack is just the result of hacker's work. The firmware of a camera is a very special software.

Please tell me if the hack software can remain in the camera when it's powered off. What happens when you change the batteries?

Thanks - Ponz

Thank you. I guess I'm having a slightly difficult time wrapping my head around it.

Appreciated - Ponz

Keoeeitor anyone else:

I hate to be a pest, but may I ask a question? I have installed the hack successfully and am able to shoot RAW. I have photoshop 7. I have old RAW conversion software left over from my G2. Neither can open or 'convert' the RAW image in order for me to manipulate in photoshop.

I have the A640. That DNG software mentioned within the wiki pages doesn't seem to work. Would/could you provide a little direction please.

Thanks - Ponz
