I have a Canon Powershot A710 IS which I bought a week ago. Only now that I've begun to take some pictures with the camera have I noticed what I'd describe as two even white flares of light on the left edge of the LCD screen. They're especially noticeable on a dark image. These appear only on the LCD screen and don't appear on the upload image when viewed on the PC.

I'd be grateful if anyone who also owns an A710 IS could confirm if this might be a fault with my camera?

I also have an A710 and my camera does not do this.

If you have only had it for a week I would return it to the store and see if I could get them to exchange it for another.

Thanks Hagar for your reply. I think I'll take it back to the store and at least compare mine to the display model. To be honest the 2 white flares aren't very apparent when viewing the LCD screen face on. It is very noticeable though if you look at the screen at a 45° angle.
