Can someone provide some guidance on how to take 'close ups.' I' thought I could just point 'n shoot, but have been unsuccessful. Have tried to troubleshoot... again, unsuccessfully.

Any experts who can take me through the digital process of a world, up, close 'n personal?

Thanks for your time in laying it out for me.

Set the camera on "Macro" (the flower icon); zoom out all the way so you're at wide angle; use the LCD (not the viewfinder) and move the camera as close as you can get and still have the subject in good focus. Good luck and I hope this helps ;-).

Listen to Bejoweth, in addition, you can consider diopter lenses (inexpensive). Also, the smaller the aperture you can manage, the better. Don't forget hyperfocal distance. They don't engrave that on lenses anymore, but you can probably calculate it. Where to get the info???? Anybody????

These may not be needed, or perhaps you'd like to go for one or two. Depends on your kit and your subject-interests.
