Hello

I have got a Canon A70 bought at March 2004. A few days ago Jul 07 when i turn it on i got these blurred distorced (see images ) on LCD . The camera has no mere than 3 and ½ years.

This is a indoor photo (poor-lite scene with auto-flash - it`s my computer screen - )

When i ponted it to a (well-lite scene) that`s what i get .

What i see at final images is the same i get on LCD.

I`m trully disaponted with Canon i thoug it was better, my camera never dropped and has always treated with the most care.

Canon support also disappointed me , carecenter ([email protected] ) replied me to a first email, but since then they let me talking alone, they just ignore my emails.

Since i live at an atlantics island: Azores it`s not very simple to find support nearby.

Any tips about this problem are appreciated

Regards

Looks exactly like someone dropped it. I know you said no one did.

It's a CCD problem and Canon should repair it at no charge.

See this service advisory:

Canon Service Advisory on A70 CCD Problems

If they are ignoring your e-mails, I'd try to call them (and escalate if the first person you talk to doesn't handle it to your satisfaction). IOW, insist on speaking to a supervisor if that's the case.

It could be that they're not ignoring your e-mails, and there is something unique to your ISP that's causing them to be filtered, too (either your e-mails to them, or their responses to you).

My camera problem was solved free of charch by Canon –Portugal , i just payed to sent it to canon support . It took me two months to get it fixed.

They changed CCD and confirm our suspects about their problem.

Generally i`m satisfied with their support !

Regards
