It's a Digital Camera, not a Digital Camcorder

Why look at the video aspect of a digicam ? It does 640x480 resolution for capture though with sound.

The video is not anything I'd want to use to record an important event if I had a choice. IMO, it's not horrible, but neither is the quality very good and at the fasyer speed, you are limited to 30 seconds (maybe that's a blessing).

Default A70 Video

Hope this helps

Movie clips 640 x 480, 15 fps, up to 30 secs
320 x 240, 15 fps, up to 3 mins
160 x 120, 15 fps, up to 3 mins
(3 mins requires high speed CF card)

I think the picture quality of the videos is quite good (compared with other digital still cameras!).
The only problem is the 15 fps. It's "choppy" to look at. (not materieal for recording to a DVD or video). You will get much better video-quality with an ordinary camcorder.
