Since it's only 6 months old, best to send for a warranty claim.
I treat the digicam like a PC peripheral, anything happens within the warranty coverage, send it back for claim or repair.

My G3 has three hot pixels and it is not even 5 months old. If I were you I would wait a while and then take it for repair before the warranty period is over. Hot pixels are a fact of life with digital cameras (unfortunately) and they do develop over time.
In most cases, when pics are resized the hot pixel is not visible. It is only really annoying when you look at the pic full size.

Hope this helps!

My G3 is 6 months old also, but I don't have that problem. At least I have yet to notice it if I did.

I had one (white pixel) on my G5 ... took it back and it was replaced. I then found the replacement also had a white pixel in all shots in a completely different position to the previous. I don't know if I should take it back for a refund/replacement/repair or just leave it and edit it out in the editing software.
